I noticed there are a lot of dark artists, some alike and some different and I have to wonder how much pinching goes on after reading aleksandra's and belletrist's post on the subject. They are both great in their own right and I'm sure people copy them all the time. I also think a lot of the inspiration is the same. I know I've been doing these pictures (using mainly actors and actresses for my roleplaying habits) since I was 14 using Paint Shop Pro. You listen to certain bands like NIN, Rasputina, Marilyn Manson etc. well..they all have a certain feel. Art is always such a controversy.

It's always hard to find inspiration. I mean, brushes fascinate me and I like to use them. But then I love high fashion makeup and I buy the magazines so I can down that smokey eyes (bought Kevin Aucoin's book for the same purpose). I also LOVE silent films. I try to copy that style all the time. Demons, vampires, I like the darker stuff. *sigh* Then when all this great stock comes my way..I can't help myself. I'm a mess.

Why is it so hard to do self-manips and what not? I guess it's because you have to look at yourself. I don't know. I never really made an awesome manip of myself. That may be a future goal.
